Reddit Releases First ‘Beauty Index’ Report

Consumer topics span from anti-aging skincare to makeup techniques.

A platform for every topic under the sun, Reddit rolled out its first-ever beauty report.

According to Reddit, the People’s Beauty Index explores a shift across Reddit’s beauty communities where beauty culture is defined by “participation over prescription.” 

For example, consumer can go to Reddit with a specific beauty question such as how to apply makeup for hooded eyes, build a skincare routine for their skin, find products that complement their skin tone or discover techniques that work for their individual features.

Project Pan is a Reddit where shoppers encourage each other to “buy with intention.” Asian Beauty highlights skincare and other products for Asian shoppers. Makeup Addiction is a place for all things makeup.

The Data

According to the report, 7 in 10 beauty shoppers say they feel more confident about their purchase after reading about it on Reddit.
